Review of Simulated Interview (Phase I of Clinical Skills)

  1. We will be using Gmail to provide feedback to you about your Phase I clinical skills interview during orientation.
  2. As soon as possible after orientation, establish an gmail account if you don’t already have one and send your gmail address to the following address: usafmclerkship@usouthal.edu
  3. This gmail account will be used to review your video interview and for you to communicate with the faculty. Gmail is used to communicate with you through the clerkship because it offers advantages and because e-companion is not available year round.
  4. Within a week of your interview you should receive feedback from a family medicine faculty member. If there are problems contact Alicia Camp.

Lecture Series

Each of these lectures should be reviewed during weeks 2-5 of your six week rotation. Each student is to watch all the lectures. The lectures parallel those of the assigned presentations. The lectures are:
  1. Week 2: Preventive Services and Health Maintenance
  2. Week 3: Medical Costs and Insurance
  3. Week 4: Practice Functioning as Medical Home
    1. Each student is required to complete a checklist to evaluate their preceptor's practice as regards to a patient centered medical home

Carol Motley, MD

Associate Professor

Dr. Motley joined our faculty in 2006 as an Associate Professor. Prior to her appointment with us she was in private practice in Huntsville, Alabama for several years. Before that time she held academic appointments at the University of Alabama, Huntsville and the Family Practice Residency, Emory University School of Medicine in Columbus, GA. 

Dr. Motley's clinical practice encompasses the full range of Family Medicine as well as Obstetrics and Women's Health.  She also serves as the Department’s Advisor to the Family Medicine Interest Group.

Ehab Molokhia, MD

Associate Professor, Medical Director

Ehab joined our faculty after completing his residency with us. Ehab's hometown is Ann Arbor, MI. He did all of his undergraduate work as well as earned his medical degree from the University of Alexandria in Alexandria, Egypt. He is an Associate Professor of the Department of Family Medicine, and is also the Assistant Residency Director. Ehab and his wife, Doaa, are the proud parents of two children; their son, Omar, and their daughter, Kharma.

Tangela Atkinson, MD

Assistant Professor

Tangela has been part of our faculty since 2006. She did her undergraduate studies at Florida State University, and earned her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. She completed her residency with us in 2002, and was in private practice for four years before rejoining. She is an Assistant Professor in the Family Medicine Department. Tangela enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 sons.
